Dear Friends of Clarke Central Publishing,We would like to thank you for your continuing support of the Odyssey and of Clarke Central’s journalism program. Our move to a lengthier magazine has proven successful and everyone on staff hopes you have enjoyed all of this year’s issues. The Odyssey has always exceeded our expectations, which in large part, is due to your contributions.The success of the magazine is also due to its original roots. Its older, sister magazine, the Iliad, is also an award winning well respected journal. While the Odyssey is a classroom managed monthly newsmagazine, the Iliad is an extracurricular annual literary art magazine. The Iliad displays the work of Clarke Central’s diverse population, giving every student an equal opportunity to have their voice heard.It is the creative outlet of our school, an open forum for all Gladiators to speak and be heard. Whether they voice their opinions through anything from poetry to photography to essays, it is accepted into the arms of the Iliad. Students are able to be published for the first time because of this magazine. Every member of Clarke Central can be motivated by seeing their name in print. The Iliad is proof that hard work can produce a final and appreciated product.Not only do faculty and students at the school read that product either. It has won countless awards, honored by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, the National Scholastic Press Association, the Georgia Scholastic Press Association, and the National Council of Teachers of English. This is the winning program here at Central. We may have a losing season in football, but the Iliad will always come out on top.

But it is only with donations, from such generous contributors like you, that the Iliad can live up to its full potential. A book printed in color will cost more this year but it is a goal we would like to achieve. Having art work displayed in its original state and intention would be the ideal for our staff and for our school. With or without color, there are always printing costs, a cost that we can not afford without charitable people supporting our program.

A greater cost to our school though, would be for us to not publish at all. As stated before, this is the creative outlet of Clarke Central. It is the premiere way for every single person, ethnicity, religion, belief system to be represented. The Iliad is nothing but a cause that is worth the time and money of everyone who contributes. Be apart of our magazine, of our winning team.

Our sponsorship levels start from $10 and go all the way up to $300. We will accept donations until April 1st, when the magazine is getting ready for its actual send off to the printer. All sponsors receive a complimentary copy of the Iliad and their name will appear on its sponsorship page. (Sponsorship Levels can be found on front.)
