The 2007-8 Odyssey was recognized as “Best Newspaper in Georgia” for the third consecutive year by the Southern Interscholastic Press Association.
 

The 2007-8 Odyssey was recognized as All Southern by the Southern Interscholastic Press Association for the third consecutive year. The magazine is eligible for the prestigious Scroggins Award, SIPA’s highest honor.

The ODYSSEY was awarded 294 out of a possible student credit points 300 points from NSPA’s evaluation resulting in a First Class rating.  The magazine received Marks of Distinction in Coverage and content, Writing and Editing, and Leadership.

The ODYSSEY was awarded 298 out of a possible 300 points from NSPA’s evaluation resulting in an All-American rating. The magazine received Marks of Distinction in Coverage and content, Writing and Editing, Layout and Design, and Leadership.
 

“The depth of your coverage is amazing. From the front cover to the final page, the publication informs, entertains (and) directs its readers in many ways,” said NSPA judge Ann Suissee.
 

Columbia Scholastic Press Association
 

The ODYSSEY received 925 of a possible 1000 points, which resulted in Gold Medalist recognition and All-Columbian honors in Writing and editing, as well as in Business Operations.
 

Quill and Scroll Honor Society
 

The magazine was awarded 907 out of a possible 1,000 points from the Quill and Scroll Honor Society, thus earning an International First Place Award-Superior Achievement recognition.
 

Georgia Scholastic Press Association
 

The 2006-7 ODYSSEY Newsmagazine received a ranking of General Excellence from the Georgia Scholastic Press Association for the third straight year.
 

The magazine also received the “Best Features Coverage” award for the third straight year from GSPA.

National Scholastic Press Association
 

The ODYSSEY Newsmagazine received three Marks of Distinction from NSPA for Coverage and Content, Writing and Editing, and Leadership. Overall, the magazine was rated as First Class - receiving 284 of a possible 300 points in the national competition.
 

Quill and Scroll Honor Society

The ODYSSEY received an International First Place Award - Superior Achievement from the Quill and Scroll Media Evaluation competition. Receiving 917 points of a possible 1,000, the magazine missed consideration for the Gallup Award by eight points.
 

Southern Interscholastic Press Association

The ODYSSEY received an All-Southern rating and was named Best Newspaper in Georgia from the Southern Interscholastic press Association.
